Blackhawks News · Sheridan Athletes and Parents – IHSAA Return to Play Guidelines -Phase 1

Welcome back!

It seems like forever since I have got to watch the Blackhawks in action!

Monday July 6, 2020 we will embark on the beginning of our 2020-21 sports summer seasons.

Although this year will be a little different, we are happy to share our plan to provide a safe and structured environment for practices and camps.  IHSAA Covid-19 Athletic Reopening Spreadsheet.xlsx (1)

Our general rule of thumb will be to wear a mask into the building and wear one when you are dressing and leaving.   During practice we will use small groups and  we will adhere to the social distancing rule as much as possible.   NO masks during practice time, unless you choose to wear one, which you can do.

Coaches will get a temperature check upon arrival each day.

Coaches will be taking athletes temperatures upon arrival so they may asked to stagger the times you arrive so that we do not have a line.  Social distance of course while waiting.   They will take attendance every day, ask you a few COVID questions everyday, and record your temperature.   We will use this information for contact tracing in the event we need to.

Wash your hands for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer every chance you get.   Hand sanitizer will be available for you at ALL practice locations.   Keep your hands away from your mouth, nose and eyes.

Weight room workout will require you to have your temperature taken before entering.  There will be no spotters and you will need to wipe down your areas just like most normal gyms do each and everyday.   Mr. McCarthy will be sanitizing the entire weight room between ALL small group workouts.

We will be using EPA approved disinfectants for gear (Clear Gear)  and equipment (sport balls) will be sanitized each and every day.

Our maintenance and support staff will also be on a strict daily cleaning schedule.

Please do not come to workouts if you are sick, or have a temperature.

I want you to know that we are taking every step we can to make our return to play as safe as possible!

Monday and Tuesday you will need to bring your Sports Health Questionnaire, a check unless paying online,  a mask, and your own WATER BOTTLE and towel.

I  will be in the building all day Monday and Tuesday evening to speak briefly to teams.  If you have questions or concerns please email me at:

See you soon!
