Blackhawks News · As we proceed….

I wanted to take a few minutes to talk about the last 3 months and our response to the pandemic.

I am so proud of our coaches, trainers, bus drivers, custodians and student-athletes for adapting to the “new” way we needed to operate within our department to make sure that everyone was safe.  Our daily protocol of taking temperatures and asking questions as well as monitoring students for signs and symtoms paid off exponentially as we had “0”direct cases within our Athletic Department.

Thank you to the parents who also kept kids home when not feeling well to protect the good of all.

As we move forward, I continue to worry about all of our Blackhawk family.

As we take steps froward it has NEVER BEEN MORE IMPORTANT  to continue to be vigilant about the “little things”.  As a former lifelong coach it’s always been the “LITTLE THINGS”  that matter!

Whatever your belief about masks- please continue to MASK UP!  If it protects one athlete, one parent, one grandparent from becoming ill, it is worth it!  There is no greater respect that caring for others selflessly.

Continue to spread out and maintain your distance from people outside of “your circle”.    If it protects one athlete, one parent, one grandparent from becoming ill, it is worth it!

When not feeling well, please stay home.  Respect your team and coaches by protecting them. If it protects one athlete, one parent, one grandparent from becoming ill, it is worth it!

Someone asked me “do you know anyone that has died from COVID”?    Sadly, my answer is yes.

Blackhawks we have come along way – I want to see us continue to keep moving forward with RESPECT, CARE, and COMPASSION.   If it protects one athlete, one parent, one grandparent from becoming ill, it is worth it!
